Ride with me and some friends to Van Buren County Ia, to the town of Bonaparte for a bike show, meet some of the locales, make a couple of friends, Take a ride around the only county in Ia. that has no stop lights, or 4 lane roads! Where a traffic Jam is an Amish buggy meeting a tractor on the road! Where there are more people licensed for motor-cycles, and maybe, just maybe, have a good time!
Feel free to contact me via e-mail for more details!

We just discovered your magazine at J&P in Anamosa a few weeks ago. I like your 99 counties, and the effort you put into promoting women and riding. The "local feel" of the magazine is the best part of it all...everything is close to home!

I just read the Alcohol Poisoning article by Gary Westphalen. That's pretty darn close to being right on all counts. In the old magazine era, it was unusual for an Editor to give enough space, or for a contributing author to take the time to turn so much technical data into an intelligent article. And its often hard to say what's fact, when the "facts" are coming from people trying to sell you something. I thought it was very good work, even when balancing contradicting comments from an opposing camp. I have associates in the EPA, and while it does seem to be a bit of a pushover lately for industry, given the scope of the fuel and oil import problem, and the size and clout of the various factions fighting for their "solutions", its not an easy job, and I wouldn't want to be in the EPA's shoes. They can't do right by everybody. They have to pick their battles, like the rest of us.
Ethanol has some real problems, but if you know what they are, and what the best solutions are, you can live with it.
Respectfully,
Matt Cohen
